OUR HISTORY

The New Zealand Honey Producers Co-operative is a South Canterbury based company and has been supplying honey since 1981, when it took over the assets of the Honey Marketing Authority and continues to supply well known brands, some of which began in the 1950’s.  The organization was formed to co-ordinate the collection, processing, packing and marketing of a range of quality honeys on behalf of its beekeeper members.

HONEY PIONEER

The origins go back to the days of a South Canterbury honey pioneer, Dick Holland – a thoroughly ingenious kiwi who was an innovative bee keeper and developed the technique of creaming honey. In gratitude of his commitment the co-operative named a brand after him, and today Hollands is one of the top brands in the nation with Hollands Premium White Clover Honey packaged in 500g pottles the number one selling product nationwide.

NZHPC TODAY

The co-operative is made up of 80-100 beekeeper shareholders, enabling a consistent supply of honey and is dedicated to serving high quality products to New Zealand consumers and the international arena.

The company is one of the largest honey packers in New Zealand, and exports a variety of retail packed honey lines to eight countries internationally.
